The iniative

Diversity, equity, and inclusion must be emphasized in all parts of education. However, building equality and social justice in STEAM education remains a global challenge.

Apart from shedding light on the inequity of education systems around the globe, accessibility, and availability of modern technology is still a challenge. The pandemic has highlighted the need for teachers to remain connected with issues relating not only to education but also to culture. This is because the pandemic has brought us together in unexpected ways and students have become increasingly concerned about relatives in different parts of the world. Moreover, during the global pandemic, many teacher preparation programs that offered work-study or teacher exchange programs came to a halt. As a result, Global Education Perspective (GEP) was initially introduced as a virtual experience in 2020, to fill in the gap created by the pandemic.

However, the COVID-19 pandemic also highlighted inequity in the education systems across the globe. As a result, we decided to shift the theme to concentrate on Inclusion, Equity, and Social Justice in STEAM education, which is also one of our main passions. Several colleagues with a STEAM background and interest have expressed their desire to collaborate on this mission and so we renamed this initiative "Collaborative International Perspectives."
