Developing curriculum leadership in Hong Kong: Lessons from two case studies
Time & Location
About the Event
Curriculum leadership is commonly recognized as an essential element in supporting school development and facilitating curriculum change processes. In the recent Hong Kong educational reform, there is a growing interest in developing teachers’ curriculum leadership. This concept however is not fully investigated in the local context. This session therefore shares the exploratory findings of the understandings and practices of curriculum leadership from prospective and in-service teachers’ perspectives in two case studies in Hong Kong. Through qualitative inquiries, the data from both case studies provides insights into the planning and organization of initial teacher education programs and ongoing teacher professional development taking (prospective/ in-service) teachers’ conceptions and practice of curriculum leadership.
